FAVOURITE -
Color
: Blue
Clothing: His dad’s beaten leather jacket.
Place: Bones’ house, georgia.
Food/drinks: Anything that’s unhealthy, though he’s partial to fruit. If push came to shove, he’d probably say his favourite food were double bacon cheese burgers.
Music genre: His music tastes vary but his music player has a lot of old school hip-hop and rap on there.
Songs and Singers/Bands: Beastie Boys.
Movies/TV Shows/Performances: Crappy TV and crappy movies are his favourite, if there’s no over acting or ridiculous script he’s not interested. He’s quite partial to cookery programs too.
Book(s): He’s a book snob, he reads Shakespeare and Wilde, poetry from the early 1900’s. Non-fiction books and academic essays are also on his PADD.
Subject in school: When he actually bothered to turn up he actually really enjoyed english, hence the his book collection.
Animal: Birds, he dreams a lot about flying. ( Also why he has Icarus )

LEAST FAVOURITE -
Clothing: On him, it’s the wetsuit though when on Bones, he’ll happily wax poetically about good they are.
Place: Riverside, Iowa.
Food: Oatmeal.
Music genre: Jazz and/or blues
Subject in school: Art, he can’t draw for shit.

Simple Pleasures
: Jim really likes the moments when he’s not running hectically around the ship, the moments when they’re not being bombed or shot at or trying to save their lives and the lives of millions. He likes spending time with the crew, socializing and getting to know them but on the other hand, the one thing he really, really enjoys is holing up in his quarters with comfort food and a close friend/loved one, talking and spending time together.
Greater Pleasures: Anything where his adrenaline pumps around his body, anything that has his heart racing and a smile on his face ( and his partners, if it’s a two man/woman job )
Where does this character like to hang out? The observation lounge. He likes watching the stars whirl by the view screen.
Where is this character’s dream place to live? He’s already living there.
Motto/Personal quote: I don’t believe in no-win scenarios.
Mode of transportation: The Enterprise of course.
Most prized possession: His dad’s leather jacket.
Why?: He never knew his father, never got a chance to know the man and had always lived vicariously through the stories his grandparents, mother and brother told him. It wasn’t until he turned 18, he was in his mom’s loft, helping her spring clean ( it was on one of their particularly good days ). There was a pile of boxes in the back, dusty things that hadn’t been touched for a long time - it turned out to be George’s things, little knick knacks Winona hadn’t brought herself to throw away but couldn’t muster the courage to look at either.
Jim on the other hand hadn’t been able to stop himself, rifling through the random objects in some vain hope to glean snippets of knowledge about the dad he never knew. It was just bits and pieces that only added to the idea Jim had of his father in his head, this clean cut, kind hearted man who seemingly could do no wrong.
All this changed however in the final box, Jim had pulled apart the cardboard on the top and was confused to see a leather jacket in there, a damn good leather jacket. There was a burn on the left elbow, something suspiciously cigarette shaped, roughed up and scuffed up patches dotting the worn material. It didn’t fit into the neat little hole that everyone had created for his father, it showed spirit, a little defiance, it told Jim more stories about his father than the countless people who had physically done so. It changed him from being a eulogy of a man into someone with actual character.
They had always told him he was so like George and he’d never seen a single corresponding trait that said so, looking down at the jacket in his lap he started to think they weren’t that wrong after all.
